Background
John D. Dunning has more than forty years experience in the high technology and venture capital industries. John began his career as an engineer at IBM's Magnetic Disk division. In 1970 he joined Iomec Corporation, a Silicon Valley startup. In 1976, he became the co-founder and Executive Vice-President of Sales and Marketing of Zycon Corporation, an electronics company that went public in 1995 and was purchased by Hadco Corporation in 1997. John is currently a General Partner of CrossFire Ventures, which participates in seed to mezzanine round equity and debt financing of biotechnology, high technology and other early stage companies. In 2004, John also started PF Distribution Center, a worldwide distributor of PowerFlare Safety Lights.

John is an angel investor who was named the International Angel Investors' 2000 Angel of the Year for his participation in the Internet/Software category. He is also a member of the Venture Capital – Private Equity Roundtable.

He graduated with honors in 1967 with a B.S.E.E. degree from Northrop University.

Interests
John is a member of the Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos and is involved in various ministries.

Strengths
My focus is on Sales & Marketing. A favorite saying I use is “Sales Cures Everything”. Without revenue, it’s hard to pay the bills!
